Guide rings - guide belt

Guide rings and guide strips provide resistance to deformation under radial load and drive the piston and rod in the hydraulic/pneumatic device, reducing friction between the moving parts. Without the guide rings, metal contact with the cylinder head would damage the system.

Guide rings are used to replace the traditional bronze bushing in hydraulic/pneumatic cylinders in cases of insufficient lubrication. We have guide rings and guide strips available from stock in various materials for different applications.

Guide shears

Shears for cutting guide rings or guide strips for hydraulic applications, made of PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), carbon, or graphite, are special tools designed for precision work.

This type of scissors has sharp, often hardened cutting blades that are suitable for effortlessly cutting these wear-resistant materials without fraying or deformation.

Guide rings and bands are used to support the piston or rod and minimize wear. Sharp, precise shears ensure that the guide band is cut to size perfectly for a good fit and optimal performance in hydraulic cylinders or systems.

Key features of these shears

  1. Sharp, hardened blades: The shears have special cutting blades that are suitable for cutting hard and tough materials such as PTFE/carbon/graphite without damaging, fraying, or deforming the material.

  2. Precision cutting: For hydraulic applications, it is important that the guide ring or band is cut to size accurately. The shears must be able to make sharp, precise cuts, as a poorly fitting ring can lead to leakage, wear, or malfunctions in the hydraulic system.

  3. Ergonomic design: To provide the user with control and convenience, these shears often have an ergonomic handle, allowing you to work efficiently without fatigue.

  4. Smooth, straight cuts: Using the right shears prevents crooked or rough cuts, which is essential for a good fit of the guide bands or rings in hydraulic systems.

Application:

  • Preparation: Select the correct size guide band or ring for the hydraulic cylinder.
  • Cutting: Place the band in the shears and make a smooth, controlled cutting motion.
  • Accuracy check: After cutting, the band must fit perfectly to provide proper guidance, which is essential for the hydraulic system to function correctly.

Proper use of these shears ensures efficient and trouble-free operation of hydraulic cylinders by ensuring a good fit of the guide rings and bands.
