There are two important measurements when measuring an O-ring: the inner diameter (inner size) and the cross-section (cord thickness).
How do you measure the inner diameter (ID) of an O-ring?
You measure the inner diameter of an O-ring by measuring from one side of the inside to the other side of the inside.
So you don't measure from the outside, because then the size will be much too large!
